Kristin Hoem Ovesen
Teacher, language enthusiast and communicator – with a burning passion for children, education, upbringing and travel.
I have many years of experience as a primary school teacher and have also worked as a school inspector. Through these roles, I have seen how much safety, predictability and small preparations can mean for children.
I have thorough knowledge of curriculum goals and know what it takes to create progression, motivation and confidence in learning. My teaching is built on relationships, structure and adapted education, so that each student can develop at their own pace – with support every step of the way.
My approach
Three pillars that all my teaching is built upon.
Safety
Students should feel safe and cared for. A safe learning environment is the foundation for all good learning. I create an atmosphere where it's okay to try, fail and grow.
Structure
Clear structure and predictability give students the calm to focus on learning. I make clear plans and follow up with regular feedback.
Mastery
Every student should experience mastery. Through adapted teaching and clear goals, I ensure that each student can develop at their own pace.
My experience
My teaching in reading, writing and mathematics is built on rich tasks, deep learning and safe progression. I have experience with students at all levels.
Several parents use my services when the family is living abroad and the children need structured homeschooling. Homeschooling can be challenging to carry out alone, and I offer academic support and structure during this period.
Many of my adult students need to feel more confident when speaking, writing or giving presentations in Norwegian. They receive a safe and supportive framework where we work together, structured and effectively, towards their goals.
